With another toss lost away from home W. Bridgfordians put Fiskerton into bat, and with opener Biscuit falling for 2, Dave Newby falling for 3, and Rob Turner falling for 5, opener Kev Smith (22) must have thought that he was the only one not invited out to the brewery trip the rest of the team looked like they had been on! Dave Foulkes finally stuck with Kev for a while, but with the pitch being slow and the ball not coming on to the bat, runs were scarce and Foulkes eventually fell for 10. VC Ed Akers strode out to the crease determined not to continue his run of ducks and for once succeded pushing the run rate up and scoring 18 in the process before eventually being bowled, and with Kev Smith having also been bowled the over before for 22, Fiskerton were looking for a big effort from the tail. Steve Milner began an assault on W Bridgfordians bowlers smashing his way to 24 not out, assisted by Kyle Barker (5), Richard Foulkes (1), Jack Surtees (2*) with Ian Wilkinson continuing his steady average of ...........0 in between. Fiskerton finishing 119 / 9 off 40 overs.
Fiskerton took to the field and with Turner removing W Bridgfordians opener second ball with a yorker that even astounded the bowler as he is not sure how he did it! Fiskerton began to believe that there was a game on!!!! But the opposition had other ideas and dug in smashing the ball all over and running well. Akers took a wicket at the other end with a good ball which nipped away hitting the batsmans off stump, this only brought another axe wielder to the crease who continued to smash the ball everywhere. Ian Wilkinson and Kyle Barker replaced Turner (5 - 0 - 25 - 1) and Akers (6 - 0 - 32 - 1) respectively but very much got the same treatment, the only highlight being Barker getting a wicket, assisted by Akers with his 8th catch of the season and Steve Milner not just dropping a catch but actually running into it RIB CAGE 1st!!!! Wilkinson (3 - 0 - 30 - 0) was brought off and after some switching around Dave Newby came out from behind the stumps to have a go with the ball, this only sped the game up as West Bridgfordians wrapped the game up comfortably at 122 / 3 off 18.4 overs, Barker finshing with respectable figures of 3 - 0 - 14 - 1 and Newby with 1.4 - 0 - 18 - 0.
