Match Report  -

The work done prior to the match was phenomenal as we had 5 players thursday evening but a late rally and thanks to all who helped got us up to 10. then on the day of the match I asked Conor where he had put my wicket keeping gloves purchased earlier in the season (the blank look said it all so on the way to Daveys house I purchased another pair. Then Davey and me went the wrong way and ended up in Loughborough but still got there in jovial mood. Then Belton who were looking for promotion inserted us and as I only had 8 at the ground I was happy with their choice. PJ and Davey opened - PJ got off pretty quick and Davey had scored 7 off 14 overs with his magic new bat. However his master plan worked the opposition all fell asleep and he allowed ed to get a quick 24 and everyone else chipped in he was eventually out in about the 35th over by which time he had doubled his run rate and scored a good 38 Roger Tysoe got a valuable 13 at the end and with the skipper put on 29 in less than 4 overs. So 139 for 7 and to bowling.

Turner and Hooch opened up and in the second over the latter took a great caught and bowled the pair did exceedingly well and after 17 overs they were 63 for 5 then a partnership took them to 90 for 6. Now bowling changes Ed and Wilko Wilko tight and ed bowling a great line and length took two wickets with his first two balls so the opposition lost 4 wickets for 25. It was a great performance with every catch (that we got too) being taken. So I view that as 28 points not 18 as we were close to cancelling it gives us a great chance of staying up as we play all the other teams around us. So our future is in our own hands and if we keep todays effort that is all I will ask for.
