Back to back wins for the Sunday Seconds for the first time in 3 seasons. A good all round performance set up by a really tight bowling performance. Olly Stanley bowling beautifully for his 3 wickets along with Paul Orgill getting some real drift also picking up 3 wickets. Star performance from Luke Rees who picked up 4 wickets on his sunday debut bowling some real good lines and lengths.
Set only 106 by second in the league and the heavens opened! We were unsure of whether we'd play but the rain relented and we ended up 1 for 2 off the first over. Kev Osbon bowled with the first ball of the innings after the bowler slipped over and kev was more bothered about him then blocking the ball out first! James Stevenson was then unlucky to be run out by Paul Whitby after a suicidal call from the latter.
However Akers, with some help from Whitby and Barker steadied the ship until Steve Milner came along and bludgeoned 41 off about 20 balls to wrap the game up. Steve hitting 2 sixes to win the match finishing on 41 not out with Akers 36 not out.
A cracking job well done boys. Lets keep the momentum. |
