Dear Kwik Cricketers,
We are now joint top with Balderton after four games and looking good. That’s four wins out of four.
We played at Farndon Cricket Club on Sunday 5th June 2011.
The first game was against Coddington Red Team
Coddington Red scored 128 runs but lost 6 wickets (minus 36 runs) which meant that they ended up at 92 runs.
We scored 157 runs and lost 1 wicket (minus 6 runs) which meant that we ended up with net 151 runs.
That’s a 59 run victory for us, good all round effort.
The side was captained by Ben who batted and bowled well, and also took a fantastic one handed catch, very impressive. We had solid batting and bowling contributions from all players (Christian, Oliver, Tilly,
Rebecca J, Charlie, Ben and William). Particular mentions to William and Christian who bowled maiden wicket overs, very unusual in Kwik cricket, very well done. Christian , Charlie, Ben and Oliver need a special mention for their batting, fours and sixes abound!
The second game was against Coddington Blue Team
Coddington Blue scored 114 runs and lost 5 wickets (minus 30 runs) which meant that they ended up at 84 runs.
We scored 149 runs and lost 3 wickets (minus 18 runs) which meant that we ended up with 131 runs, a 47 run victory!
The side was captained by Rebecca J who bowled particularly well. Fantastic displays all round with special batting and bowling mentions for Christian, Charlie and Ben. The fielding deserves a special mention, restricting boundaries and taking four good catches, well done team.
Our overall Sunday Player of the Day was again Christian Butcher, fantastic bowling and batting, well done Christian!
Well done everybody, we stand a good chance of winning the Kwik Cricket league if we can keep the core of the squad of players together. Would hate to lose the league because of a lost game due to key members of the team needing to be elsewhere (sorry Mums and dads, it’s the coaches heads up plea, not wanting to upset, just inform).
Keep practicing
Coach Kev
